It’s that time of year when the dogwoods are blooming and the James River beckons. We’ve left behind our winter sweaters for coats of pollen. That’s right, it’s almost Earth Day in beautiful Richmond, VA. Over the next week, Backyard Farmer will be hosting hands-on activities at eco-friendly celebrations across the region. To get a taste for what’s coming, view this video from Science Matters about Backyard Farmer and Earth Day Festival 2012.
As co-owner Sean Sheppard says: Gardening builds character, builds strength, and builds knowledge! So come on out to an Earth Day festival near you, and learn how to grow your own food, make your own compost, and spend lots of good quality time outside.
